Wo geht's denn hier nach Aldi?

Kürzlich hat es mich mal wieder erwischt. Klugscheißentag. Das passiert von Zeit zu Zeit, wie ich ja schon mal angemerkt habe.

Manchmal allerdings wünsche ich mir es wäre anders. Warum? Tja, das mag sich jetzt jeder selbst ausmalen...

Der Mensch der Moderne hat aber noch andere Möglichkeiten und so möchte ich auf den Interssanten Beitrag Getting fired for buying IBM verweisen.

Es besteht also noch Hoffnung...

NFS-Export und fsid

Ich beschäftige mich mal gerade wieder mit NFS. Wenn man mal einen ersten Blick auf NFS wirft, so denkt man, dass es da eigentlich gar nicht so viel zu erzählen gibt. Exporte legt man in /etc/exports fest und das mounten des Dateisystems ist ziemlich ähnlich zu anderen Dateisystemen.

Dazu gibt es noch ein paar Optionen für den Export und den Mount und das war's dann auch schon; funktioniert eigentlich immer ganz gut... eigentlich.

Using SOAP::Lite with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

I recently played around with the Amazon Web Services (AWS). My idea was to use Perl and SOAP, so SOAP::Lite in fact to access the AWS to fetch some book data.

Although I know that Amazon offers a REST I wanted to have something for real men (TM), since REST looked too easy to me. How naive I was...

Mein DNS muss sicherer werden

Nachdem meinen DNS nun auf dynamische Updates vorbereitet habe, möchte ich noch ein wenig um dessen Sicherheit kümmern.

Mit allow-transfer verbiete ich erstmal generell den Transfer von Zonendaten. Der nächste Punkt allow-recursion ist ein echt interessanter.

Dynamische DNS-Updates mit Bind

Manchmal habe ich ja komische Ideen von Dingen, die ich unbedingt brauche. Vor einiger Zeit schon hatte ich mir in den Kopf gesetzt mal unbedingt Dienste wie DynDNS abzulösen und das ganze selbst in die Hand zu nehmen.

Typo3: latest news block on one page only

Although I'm using Drupal I post on Typo3 again.

However, I had the following problem: I want to show a latest news block for tt_news on one special page only. So I defined a new content mapping in TemplaVoila for this block (lib.popular, don't ask why ;-) ).

The answer is quite simple: Check for the page ID and show the stuff on the right page only. First I thought that you have to use GP:id, but that's not the case. Might be obvious to the enlightened, but it was not to me.
